Picking Our Books

 

Blake is looking through the books to see which book "fits" him.

 

After carefully looking through the books, Blake chooses one.
 

 Now it is Meredith's turn to pick a book.  She looks over them carefully.

She is counting the words that she does not know on the first few pages.

There was only one word that she didn't know so this books "fits" her.

"Just Right" Book Lesson

     As second graders, we are responsible for choosing books that fit us.  Friday, we talked about how different shoes have different purposes and how they also need to fit the person. 

 

Abby shows us how Mr. Games's school shoes don't fit her even though they have the same purpose.

      Now we are ready to pick out books from our classroom and school libraries that fit us "just right."

A New School Year 2014-2015

     A new school year is beginning!  I couldn't wait to meet my students on the first day.  This is how our room looked on Monday, August 18th before everyone arrived.

     We had a wonderful day at Jackson Park playing games, eating, and just playing around.  Thanks to all the parents that made this day do wonderful!
