100 Days Smarter

Tuesday, January 24 was our 100th day of school.  We came to school looking like we were 100 years old and some of us brought projects too!

Here we are coming to school.

     Here are our projects:

We had 4 stations of fun.  The first one was creating a picture using the digits 1, 0, and 0.

100 drops of water was a LOT less than we expected it to be!

We made books of 100 dots.  We had to organize each page by tens and finally the last page had 100!  It took a lot to squeeze in all those dots.

I think we were the most proud of our cup sculptures.

Donations

This year, instead of doing a gift exchange, our class voted to bring in items and books to donate to other children in need.  Our whole table was filled!  We have a very generous class.  Great job!

Block the Door

Today we had our "Block the Door"  food collection campaign.  It was a huge success!  Our class did an awesome job.  I have to admit I was a little worried last week.  The whole school really kicked it in this week.  We beat our donations from last year!

Here are some pictures.

Things are going great.  Then...

Crash!

Thank goodness for Mrs. Smittle!  She helped us get our donations to stay up.

Wow!  Success!  We are so proud.

End of the Day Fun
Our trip to listen to the WV Symphony lasted longer than we thought it would, so we didn't get as much recess as usual.  We took a little time at the end of the day to enjoy the nice weather and get the wiggles out.

Halloween Math Morning

We had our annual second grade Halloween Math Morning.  We wore our costumes all day and played games all morning.  We had some moms and Mrs. Smittle come in and help us.  It was a great way to spend our morning!

Miss Thomas's Going Away Party

It is time for Miss Thomas to move upstairs to 4th grade with Mrs. Ice for her last position in student teaching.  We are certainly going to miss her.

Miss Thomas is reading her "Teacher Tips" that we wrote for her.  Now it is time to see what kinds of teacher goodies we all contributed to her teacher bag.
