How to Pick a "Good Fit" Book

Books are like shoes.  Each has a purpose.

Each shoe has a purpose.  Boots are for snow.  Running shoes are for exercise.  The flip flops are good for the pool or for just walking around.  Black high heels are for work, church, or dresses.  The slippers are for when you are getting ready to go to bed.

The shoes don't fit us.  We need to choose shoes to fit us.  We also need to choose books that fit us.

Mrs. Games's shoes don't fit Hailey Ann.  Hailey Ann's shoes don't fit Mrs. Games.

Now we need to choose books that fit "just right"!



Read to Self And Our Birthday Chart

Here we are practicing our reading to ourselves.  We have built up to 20 minutes this week.  Next week will also be working on words during our small group times.

2010-2011 Ends

Matt had the most AR points for our class.  He got a medal for having over 100 points and was able to go to the AR breakfast.  Awesome job Matt!

Alex was one of only two students in the whole school to receive a perfect attendance award.  Alex, you are wonderful!

It has been a fantastic year!  I will miss each and everyone of the students.  They are SO ready for third grade.  The third grade teachers will be very pleased.  I look forward to a relaxing summer and getting ready for another group of super second graders.
