Thermometers

Temperature tells if it is hot or cold.  The temperature outside has been very low lately.  That means it has been cold.  We've been keeping track on a graph.  In October and September we had more warm temperatures.  In November we've had more cold temperatures.  Celsius makes more sense.  Fahrenheit doesn't make as much sense.  Only the U.S.A. uses Fahrenheit.  Most other countries use Celsius.  We measure the temperature of hot water and icy water.  We watched the temperatures rise and fall.  Room temperature was about 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 24 degrees Celsius.   Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit and 0 degrees Celsius.  Water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit and 100 degrees Celsius.

Tissue Art

Mrs. Stewart read some poems from Animals, Animals and showed us the artwork by Eric Carle.  She demonstrated how Eric Carle makes his pictures and then we made some too.

Maddie and Kamran cut tissure shapes and then painted over them with vinegar.
Our whole class results are below.  They turned out great!
